Photo Blogging Challenge – Inside

january_results

The theme for the January photo blogging challenge was “Inside”.

Life really threw me for a loop this month.

I was laid off from my job and I was sick most of the month with gastrointestinal issues that then caused the fun ripple effect of insomnia.

I didn’t work out much in January, and that’s not good for me, considering my blog is about getting fit.

I did get 5 pictures though for this challenge!

Trees

I haven’t looked at the other bloggers photos yet, but I have a feeling I’m the only one who has trees in an “inside” photo challenge.

These indoor trees are in the Natick Mall.

present

I saw my friend Amanda in January and exchanged Christmas gifts with her then.

Can you guess what was inside the box?

dr

Every Friday in January found me inside a doctors office, so I finally just gave up and took a photo there for this challenge.

lobster

I never lost my sense of humor though!

These lobsters are at the restaurant Captain Fishbones in Marina Bay (Quincy, MA).

library

Finally, I know I overuse the Thomas Crane Library in photos for challenges, but it’s such a beautiful space.

This is the periodicals room & yes, that is a wall of stained glass windows.

I feel like I’ve gone back in time when I visit this part of the library.

All in all, not my best month, but I did OK.

This monthly photo blogging challenge is facilitated by PJ of the Northeast Bloggers Network.

Thanks for inspiring me to take more photos!

Social Boston Sports – New Year New You Bootcamp

Social Boston Sports

I’ve signed up for a Social Boston Sports bootcamp in Jan & Feb.

I’m on a team with my former Fit League teammate (in 2012) Desirée, called “On Wednesday’s We Do Burpees”. Side note – how is that 4 years ago?!

The classes are Yoga on Mondays and Boot Camp on Wednesdays – both at 7 PM.

The 1st class was last night, but I was feeling under the weather so I just showed up to check in & pick up my shirt…only to find out they didn’t make shirts for this league. I grumpily headed home.

Hopefully I’ll feel better on Wednesday night & will be able to attend the 1st boot camp session – and meet my teammates.

Edit 1/7:

Due to a scheduling mix up with the gym the SBS league is hosted at, classes were pushed back an hour to 8 PM. Sadly, that hour was too much of a difference for me, so I dropped the league.

I’ve been suffering from insomnia lately, and I don’t think exercising so close to bedtime would to help with my sleep. (I wouldn’t get home till 9:30 PM & I usually go to bed at 10 PM.)

Yoga, Beats & Boot Camp Community Class with Meghan

On Sunday night, I took an awesome Move With “Yoga, Beats & Boot Camp” class taught by Meghan.

Meghan & I go way back. We worked together back in 2007 & 2008 when we were employed by the same high tech public relations firm. I’m glad we’ve stayed in touch as she’s gone on to fitness for her career & I’ve branched out to nonprofit fundraising.

Meghan’s also the friend that hosts a spin class fundraiser for Autism Speaks every year. It’s a cause close to both of our hearts to I make sure to attend.

Anyway, last night’s class was fun. It was a mix of yoga with boot camp moves like burpees thrown in every now and then. I’m glad I was able to attend!

Here’s a view of my mat, with a water bottle from the last Autism speaks fundraiser Meg held

It was really inspiring that the class was held at the Boston Marathon runbase.

I’m looking forward to taking other awesome classes lead by Meg later this year.
