Photo Blogging Challenge – Look Up

may_2017_res

The theme for the May photo blogging challenge was “Look Up”.

I had a lot more fun with this challenge than I thought I would and ended up having to pick my five favorites from all the photos I took that fit the theme.

May brought me great news in the job world!

I became Chief Development Officer at Respond, Inc. – a domestic violence nonprofit on May 15th.

With a few days of time off left before the job started, I visited the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston with my Mother-in-law (a retired art teacher). It was a great day and was where I took the photo below.

I love the cherry blossom trees in Quincy, MA.

Here’s one in full bloom not far from my condo.

I’ve never made my love of  nonprofits a secret. This year I served on the development (fundraising) committee for Community Servings LifeSavor gala. I was on the balloon pop sub-committee – soliciting donations for prizes in the balloon pop at LifeSavor gala.

Community Servings believes food heals. They live that mission by  preparing and delivering 9,600 meals each week to individuals and families who are homebound and living with critical and chronic illnesses. The made-from-scratch meals are medically tailored to meet the nutritional and medical needs of clients who are fighting illnesses like HIV/AIDS, diabetes, cancer, multiple sclerosis, and many others.

Here’s what the balloons looked like on the night of the gala and I’m happy to say we sold out!

I mentioned earlier that I tried to enjoy the days off I had before starting my new job. That included taking trips into Boston, where I took the photo below.

On the Red Line between Park Street & Charles MGH stations is my favorite view of Boston. Remember to look up, or you’ll miss it!
I didn’t do anything to this photo to add effects and I like how it came out.

Thanks for checking out my photos this month. I always have fun taking photos that fit the theme all month.

This monthly photo blogging challenge is facilitated by PJ of the Northeast Bloggers Network.

Thanks for inspiring me to take more photos!
